Alerts Setup Guide

The watchlist is where you save your list of keywords and/or companies that you'd like to receive alerts for.

Create Your Watchlist

The Watchlist is where you configure which alerts you'd like to receive.

Use Headline Keywords to receive an alert if an announcement headline contains a word you are interested in. Keyword matching notifies of any announcement headline that contains one of your keywords, across all equity stocks.

Use Company Symbols when there are specific companies for which you'd like to receive every announcement (or just price-sensitive ones), regardless of what the headline contains.

You can create entries for Headline Keywords and/or Company Symbols, as they are separate lists to cater for the type of alerts you are interested in. Our alert algorithm checks each list independently.

Add entries one at a time, or as a comma-separated list, or paste a column from Excel. Use the Add button to transfer entries into a list, then click the Save button to submit your settings.

Headline Keyword Matching

In your watchlist, you have the option to add entries containing a keyword (i.e. free text), that will be matched against all headlines from every announcement made by stocks that are of type "equity".

For example, using the keyword director, this will match the following headline examples:

Appointment of Executive Chair and Executive Director
Change of Director's Interest Notice
List of Directors and their roles and functions

You can also match using a mixture of words and partial text, such as "capital rais", which covers multiple variations of headlines:

Capital Raising

Completed Capital Raise

Multiple entries are comma-separated, but each entry can include spaces to combine a mixture of words as a phrase. For example:

launch, contract, capital rais, quarterly report, placement

This has 5 entries in total, separated by comma. 2 of those entries are multiple words - "capital rais", and "quarterly report".

Wilcard * (asterisk)

You can use the asterisk character as a wildcard to cater for possible variations of keywords. For example:

buy*back

This will match "buy-back", "buyback", "buy back", and any other variation with other characters between the words buy and back.

Note:

Keywords can be a word, or part of a word, or a phrase to match the announcement headlines.

Matching is not case-sensitive.

Changes to your alert configuration may take a few minutes to process and take effect, and you can change your configuration at any time.

Alerts are sent based on at least one match with entered symbols and/or keywords. Symbols and Keywords are independent of each other, meaning that keywords are matched against headlines published by all listed companies.

You can choose to send alerts to your Email or Webhook. If you would like a break from receiving alerts, you can leave these options unticked - you will not receive any alerts, however, please note that billing will continue if you have subscribed.

Send Alerts to Webhook

Once you select this checkbox, it will open the verification section, and you can then add your Webhook URL to complete Webhook verification. See our instructions at Webhook How-To if you want to learn how to create a Webhook.

Please note: we currently only allow Webhooks from Slack and Discord - although we can add to this list based on demand.

Send Alerts to Email

If you select 'Send Alerts to Email', remember to check your Junk folder, and add our domain to your Safe Senders list - see Email How-To for more tips. Not that due to factors beyond our control, there may be occasional delays with receiving emails.

Send Alerts To...

The ASX (Australian Stock Exchange) uses a Price Sensitive flag to indicate announcements that they believe are likely to affect the share price.

You can add entries to your Company Symbols list that will filter announcements based on their Price Sensitive flag.

To receive only price sensitive announcements for a specific company, tick the Price Sensitive Only checkbox before you click 'Add' for Company Symbols. The entry will then display "-PS" next to each symbol.

The alert content you receive will contain the text $PS to indicate a price sensitive alert.
